Believe it or not, Kathie Lee Gifford’s dream job isn’t hosting morning talk shows. As previously mentioned, Gifford is also an actress and a singer/songwriter. Hearing her speak about storytelling is enough to understand how deeply she wants to act. Unfortunately, Hollywood seems way more interested in her brand than her emotional range. As early as 1991, and as recently as 2019, Gifford’s appeared in movies and television shows as herself. Projects such as “Seinfeld,” “The Simpsons,” “George of the Jungle,” “30 Rock,” two of the “Sharknado” films, and “Nashville” — just to name a few — all feature Gifford as the famous morning talk show host she’s famous for being.

In 2021, Gifford told Variety that her resume is so eclectic that it looks like something of a “Where’s Waldo” book. “I feel like Waldo from those ‘Where’s Waldo’ books,” she said. “Waldo’s everywhere and you say, ‘What the hell is he doing there?’ That’s me. My whole career. What am I doing here? So many people can do so many more things than they believe they can. But they’re paralyzed with fear of failure, I suppose.” As of this writing, Gifford’s most recent appearance as herself can be found in “The Other Two,” a 2019 Max original series.
